beauty:
first aid beauty cleanser/moisturizer: this is a not-so-basic, basic set of skincare. it’s super gentle, fragrance/paraben/sulfate/pthalate free, and ph balanced. It calms red, sensitive skin and appropriate for winter skin. they feature calming ingredients such as feverfew, oatmeal, and aloe in tandem a concise list. it’s a no frills, uncomplicated, and promising duo.
fashion:
trousers: what i thought was an unrequited love turns out to be a lot of pda. i always thought i’d die by drowning in material (literally and figuratively), but the secret is finding a pair that fits the waist/crotch area. If the pants fit well around there, all you need is a simple hem to fix the length. my faves are the halley and clancy pants from aritzia.
jeans: always been a jean girl, always will be. i’m also very fucking short. i’ve stuck with skinny jeans since like 2007ish because I never thought i’d be able to pull off boyfriend/straight/flare cut jeans. honestly i probably still can’t, especially since i gained a pair of hips and few extra pounds over the last ten years. but whatever. i fucking love a straight cut jean or a super baggy pair, so you best bet i’m gonna wear it. my faves are from topshop and zara.
lifestyle:
the love witch: so my favorite movies are all the king’s men and across the universe and anything sofia coppola. the love witch clearly doesn’t belong with the first two, but it may just take first place. it’s an old-hollywood, quasi-horror love story directed by Anna Biller. the costume design and makeup alone make this movie a must see. i’ve never wanted to wear blue eyeshadow more. (the pic for this post is a still from the movie)
fresh flowers: yo i can’t even explain the magic of having fresh flowers in your room. just try it and holler. i firmly believe that your surroundings affect your mood. your space mirrors your mind, essentially. fresh flowers not only pimp my room, but make me feel CALM (a rare phenomenon).
