Jewel-toned Suede: I don’t need another jacket…but I do. Luscious suede in a deep plum burgundy hue sounds ideal for fall, but I break the rules. Muted yet still saturated, jewel tone can be bohemian or badass, and super versatile. One step above neutrals yet wearable, textured yet smooth, this Balenciaga number brings a twist to a classic staple.
Shoulder Baring Top: A loose silhouette in a lightweight material that sway off exposed shoulders is sexy and sweet. A perfect transitional piece to take you from fresh spring days to a sexy summer nights, an off the shoulder top can be worn atop ripped jeans or leather mini. Pair with a gold choker to add subtle sparkle and effortless beach waves for European seaside vibes.
Beige Knit: I have black knits and grey knits and white knits but I’m seriously lacking in the beige knit department. Zara seems to have a surplus this season which means I can stock up without breaking the bank. I’m not the one to rock spring pastels but beige comes close enough. It adds a soft touch to badass leather and texture to soft denim.
Pink Champagne Eyeshadow: Tom Ford Sphinx has been on my radar since it came out. Explaining the color wouldn’t give it justice but it’s like a galactic duo chromed orange-pink champagne which shines like stellar diamonds when hit by the light. It’s as if the lived in Courtney Love smokey eye was birthed in a psychedelic spring meadow.
Leather Backpack: Leather backpacks remind me of 90s Winona and I’m about it. Not to mention totally convenient and hands free, backpacks mean extra standing space on the subway, less weight on your shoulders and more room for shopping bags.
Platform Sandals: I’ve been lusting after a pair of platform sandals for years but can’t find a pair that doesn’t make me look like a stripper. These nude Aquazzura’s have a 70s Marcia Brady meets Mia Farrow vibe. They feature my holy trinity of design: a super high heel, multi-textured leather and lace up straps.
Smokey Eyeshadows: Speaking of lived in Courtney Love smokey eyes, this Maybelline palette features rich, dark colors. From an antique gold to blue sapphire to amethyst purple, I imagine wearing these colors super saturated over the lid with smudged eyeliner.
Reptile Bag: Snakeskin, crocodile, cow hide etc., I love them all. I’m kind of an a***hole when it comes to animal skin, come at me PETA. This vintage snakeskin Chanel bag is everything. With gold hardware and and stone embellishments, this bag would add some spice to my monotone wardrobe. Vintage snakeskin Chanel, a girl can dream…
Gold Accessories: This Versace ring with black Swarovski stones is simultaneously subtle and obnoxious and I love it. The perfect equilibrium between an old bougie housewife and young NYC socialite, I gotta put this ring on it (me).
Mini Wallet: Ultraluxe but super convenient, this mini Balenicaga City wallet has been on my list for ages. The hardcore gold hardware and zip detailing looks good while saving space in the black abyss of the bottom of your bag.
Mini Skirt: A quality olive toned mini skirt is unfortunately so underrated. Olive green goes with everything yet adds extra depth to an otherwise plain outfit. Whether worn under white, cream, black, grey, or blush tones, olive can be worn so many ways. Whether your channeling your inner badass with camo/military vibes or bohemian forest princess with deep earthtones, I need to incorporate this piece into my wardrobe these upcoming seasons.
Black Crossbody: If you couldn’t tell, I love black leather with gold hardware. This Chloe bag may be small, but it sure as hell is mighty. The vintage saddle shape is preppy while the gold charms add a bohemian feel. The subtle contrast of style makes it easy to pair with a plethora of looks.
Pom pom: Whether you put it on your keys or wear it as a purse bauble, a (faux) fur pom adds a level of luxury to whatever you put it on. An easy and affordable way to add an extra element of bougie, a fur pom can be found on amazon.com or a multitude of retailers.
Sock Booties: Finally a pair that doesn’t cost my kidney, sock booties are trending this season. If you ask me though, these are a relaunched spin on a classic piece and aren’t “trendy”. If I had a disposable $1200 I’d get the real Ann Demeulemeester’s, but these Topshop ones will do for now.
Vintage LBD: The loose shape of this Saint Laurent V-neck LBD reminds me of a fairy, but the strong black color is just my type. The girly assymetrical hem juxtaposes the plunging neckline can be worn year round with sexy strappy sandals or a fur gilet.
Silk Blouse: This is a wardrobe essential. Worn atop ripped jeans, leather leggings, wide leg trousers and under a leather jacket or tweed blazer, this piece will take you all sorts of places.
Ripped Black Jeans: Topshop Jamie’s are always the answer. The real key to success, these jeans hit me right at the ankle, are made of thick denim, and hold there shape (even after floor crawling the Rogers Centre to find your earrings).
Leather Shorts: Leather skirts are cool, but leather shorts are cooler. With a tucked in blouse, leather shorts can be smart. With a ripped tee, leather shorts can be rocker chic. With stilettos or converse, one pair of these will take you from work parties to music festivals.
